The Department of Water Supply expects the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates fill station to remain open through 7 p.m. Sunday. The well that serves the fill station broke down Monday, and DWS officials are still working to procure a contractor. Once they do that, the contractor will need to pull the pump from the well, determine the cause of the breakdown and prepare a repair time line, officials said.

The county on Tuesday closed the commercial fill spigots in Ocean View. It has been assessing water levels in the tank since, determining late Thursday it would close the fill station Sunday evening until the well is repaired.
Users are asked to limit consumption to potable needs only. Alternate spigot sites are available in Waiohinu and Hookena.
